Transfer Timeline
- Immediate: Payment processed and request initiated
- 24 hours: Approval email sent
- 5-7 days: Transfer completes (can be faster if approved immediately)
- Some domains: Current registrar may speed up transfer
What Transfers Include
When you transfer a domain to us:
- 1 year extension added to current expiration
- Free WHOIS privacy protection
- Free DNS management and full control
- No downtime - Nameservers remain the same unless you change them
Transfer Pricing
Transfer prices vary by domain extension:
- Most popular TLDs: $10-15 including 1-year extension
- Check our domain pricing page for specific TLD rates
Transfer Restrictions
Domains cannot be transferred if:
- Less than 60 days old (ICANN policy)
- Within 60 days of previous transfer
- Recently updated contacts (some TLDs have restrictions)
- In redemption period (expired)
- Subject to legal dispute
- Certain ccTLDs with special rules

To transfer a domain away from us:

Step 3: Approve at New Registrar
Canceling a Transfer
If you initiated a transfer by mistake:
Within 5 Days
Contact support immediately to cancel the outbound transfer.
After Transfer Complete
The transfer cannot be reversed. You would need to initiate a new transfer back.
Troubleshooting Transfer Issues
Transfer Rejected
Common reasons:
- Domain is locked
- Incorrect authorization code
- Admin email not accessible
- Domain doesn't meet transfer requirements
- Verify all requirements are met
- Double-check authorization code
- Contact current registrar for assistance
Transfer Pending for Days
Causes:
- Waiting for approval from admin email
- Current registrar hasn't released domain
- DNS propagation delays
- Check admin email for approval link
- Contact current registrar to expedite
- Contact our support if longer than 7 days
Authorization Code Not Working
Solutions:
- Request a new code from current registrar
- Ensure domain is unlocked
- Verify no typos in code entry
- Some codes are case-sensitive
Transfer Best Practices
- Start transfer early before domain expiration
- Backup DNS records before transferring
- Keep current nameservers until transfer completes
- Don't update contacts during transfer
